Just over two weeks ago in a place very near to Brentwood in Essex at 2:45 in the afternoon, Burt Grenadier was sitting at an inappropriately large conference table agreeing to something huge. Burt’s previous employers from Atom Reach Technologies Bob Noxious and Percy Cution had offered, in return for dropping all pending arson charges against him, a return flight to Violer 16g on the very first Light-Speed interplanetary cruise. And just in case that wasn’t enough to take in as Burt wrestled with a raging hangover, he was asked due to strict deadlines if he wouldn’t mind boarding before tea-time that evening.
